Description
The ALGADEC system is a new developed fully automated tool for the specific and rapid detection of harmful algal blooms (HABs) in the field, but it can be also used for the detection of non-harmful microalgae and other microorganisms.
The device is based on a multiprobe chip with 16 electrodes and an electrochemical hybridisation reaction.
It comes in a user-friendly portable size with battery option for field applications.
The automated biological sensor enables a fast and quantitative detection of (harmful) microalgae in the water, without using a cost-intensive and time-consuming laboratory analysis.
Based on this features the device can be used as an early warning system and for monitoring purposes.

Description
The long range telemetry system „LRT400-1.0“ enables the combined power supply and data transfer via coaxial cable (ship winch).

The system offers data transfer up to a cable length of 15 km with a maximum data rate of 1 MBit/s. Such high bandwidth with Ethernet connectivity is normally only achieved by the usage of fibre optics, which are not available on most ships.

Standard interfaces (e.g. RS232/485, USB, Video, Ethernet) enable the implementation of a wide range of different user devices (e.g. sensors, sampling systems, cameras, etc.).

Modular Optical Zooplankton Sensor
Description
LOKI is a new approach to overcome the limitations set by conventional net sampling of zooplankton by the use of a digital camera sensor.

The LED-illuminated detection head provides images, which enable identification to the genus level with high spatio-temporal resolution.

Image acquisition and operation are performed online by using a Gigabit ethernet camera (shutter times down to 20µs; 15..30fps @ 1.4/4.0 MPix resolution).

Areas of Interest (AOI) are extracted in real time from the image frame and stored in the SQL database together with customized environmental parameters (e.g. CTD, fluorescence, O2), associated by a timestamp.

The processing software frontend allows easy visualization of imaged objects, extracted picture properties and environmental parameters.

LOKI is suitable for a wide range of applications. Different versions for vertical profiling, and moored operation are available. In addition, a towed version and a new laboratory device, using the same technology and software will be available soon.

Microcontroller based, all-purpose data logger with multichannel analog signal inputs and serial data interfaces for a wide range of sensor types (e.g. Aanderaa).

Wide range power supply input (9-18V DC or 18-36V DC) with stabilized output voltage for external sensors.

Description
The sediment trap iSiTRAP 3x12/100 is designed specially for deployment close to the bottom in shallow water e.g. coastal regions.

It features a very compact design and light weight. This allows an easy handling, even by divers.

The sampling plate can be replaced independently and easily, also while the trap is located at the sea floor.

The device offers 36 sampling containers, whereat 3 samples are taken in parallel. Various sample intervals can be used with a total operation time up to 1 year.

The funnel size can vary up to a diameter of 250 mm, depending on the respective application.

Parameter setup is done easily via any terminal program, like Windows® hyper terminal.

The electronic control, based on a microcontroller system, offers non-volatile flash memory, real-time clock and power save mode.

Description
The digital iSiTEC underwater camera for still images comes with a resolution of 10 megapixels and 4 x optical zoom.

The integrated Ethernet-interface allows the direct connection to a personal computer as well as the connection via network or internet. This enables remote control over large distances.

With the optional feature „PowerLine“ a simple coax-cable (ship winch) is sufficient to provide both: communication and power supply.

The modular conception enables an adaption of the camera to different areas of application.

Various underwater housing types made of plastic, anodized aluminum, stainless steel or titan offer operation depths of 100, 1000 or 6000m.

A camera exchange, respectively upgrade is easily achievable. This ensures that the camera can be kept at state of the art.

With the integrated high power LEDs, additional external lighting could be needless, especially at close range applications..

The user-friendly operation software with online video display offers easily control and parameterization of the camera and optional pan/tilt unit. The images can be downloaded online to the PC.

The new digital underwater video camera for various monitoring applications provides Full HD resolution with 25 frames per seconds in H 264 format. With MJPEG a maximal resolution of 4 megapixel is possible. The integrated zoom lens comes with 10 x optical zoom and autofocus.

The integrated Ethernet-interface with 100 Mbit/s allows the direct connection to a personal computer, as well as the connection via network or internet. This enables a remote control even over large distances. Power over Ethernet (PoE) allows a simple way for power supply.
