National Physical Laboratory

NPL provides standards for underwater acoustics. Services include testing of sonars, transducers and hydrophones in laboratory tanks, our acoustic pressure vessel and our open water site. NPL also undertakes acoustic consultancies, including offshore measurements of underwater noise and environmental impact assessment for the effect of underwater noise on marine fauna.
