Hydro-Float Mooring Buoys

Description

Flotation Technologies' subsurface mooring buoys provide exceptionally reliable buoyancy for a variety of oceanographic, commercial, military and offshore applications. Buoys are offered with a full range of depth ratings up to 7000m and can be configured for instrumentation packages and specialized mooring hardware. Removable hardware assemblies are available in Type 316L stainless, galvanized steel and titanium depending on the service and load rating requirements. HMBs are manufactured to outperform and outlast conventional mooring flotation.

Specifically designed for high current applications, the Flotation Technologies StableMoor™ is designed to reduce drag and increase mooring stability in extreme flow regimes. By decreasing frontal area (compared to our standard spherical buoys) and increasing mooring stability in high current areas, the StableMoor minimizes mooring inclination and excursions. With a theoretical drag coefficient of 0.3 the StableMoor™ is the lowest drag ADCP deployment solution available today.
