Cable & Flowline Protection
Title
Cable & Flowline Protection
Description
Uraduct® comprises cylindrical half-shells molded from a range of marine-grade polyurethanes. The half-shells overlap and interlock to form close fitting protection around the core product.

The half-shells are secured in place using pre-cut corrosion resistant banding which is located in recessed grooves to ensure a smooth external profile.

For ease of handling and transportation, Uraduct® is manufactured in lengths of up to 2.0m with flexing characteristics to suit the required minimum bend radius of the product or ancillary shipboard lay equipment.

Uraduct® is a custom made system. It is manufactured to suit the core product with internal diameters ranging from 15mm to 650mm.

Where needed it can be manufactured to suit two or more cables with a special internal profile resulting in a fully protected bundled system.

Piggyback Systems
Title
Piggyback Systems
Description
An advanced Piggyback System (APBS) is a pair of “snap-together” two-piece injection molded high performance, tough, durable, marine grade polypropylene saddles. The pieces are fixed in position by a highly corrosion-resistant Alloy 625 circumferential banding strap. It also has a sealing assembly using a unique “double notch” sealing technique to ensure no movement in the seal over time.

The APBS moldings can be supplied with pre cut or coiled banding.

APBS clamps are quick and easy to install and have the distinct advantage of being lighter than other materials, such as rubber and polyurethene, making them far easier to handle.

Polyspace
Title
Polyspace
Description
The Polyspace system is flexible and is made up of interlocking, hollow, marine grade High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) half-shells fastened around the cable by corrosion-resistant metallic banding.

Internal cable clamps are used to lock the Polyspace moldings onto the cable at regular intervals. Specific leading and trailing bending stiffeners can be included with the system to prevent the cable exceeding the recommended minimum bend radius at anytime during the installation.

Molding OD = 800mm. Current maximum core product size is about 95mm but the existing design can be modified to suit up to 150mm cables.

Typical assembly length per crossing is 20m plus leading and trailing bend protection stiffeners. Water (>500msw) assembly length will need to be considered in respect to the positioning capabilities of the laying vessel and catenary monitoring accuracy.

ROV Buoyancy
Title
ROV Buoyancy
Description
Trelleborg Offshore have the material technology and design experience to manufacture highly sophisticated buoyancy modules.

ROV buoyancy is manufactured from cross-linked co-polymer foam or syntactic foam.

Cross-linked co-polymer foam is typically used for water depths up to a maximum of 600m.

Syntactic foam is depth rated to over 7,000m (full ocean depth).

A hard shell outer skin is available for deepwater ROVs. The “hard-shell” is homogeneous within the composite core and outer layer of the polyurethane elastomer skin. A series of impact tests proved the “hard-shell” system to be 3 times stronger than a conventional outer skin.

Typical densities range from 200 kg/m3 (13 lbs/ft3) up to 450 kg/m3 (28lbs/ft3).

Umbilical Floats
Title
Umbilical Floats
Description
Umbilical floats are constructed using a polyethylene outer shell filled with a high performance syntactic foam core.

A heavy duty replaceable hinge and fastening system are standard on all floats and both are designed for replacement if damaged during use.

The internal bore running axially through the float is bell mouthed at each end to allow flexing of the cable without either forcing open the float body or damaging the cable.

Two sizes of float are available and maybe rated between 500-6,000msw for operation.

The UF1 series of floats provide 7 to 14kg nett buoyancy per float depending upon operating depth. The larger UF2 series provides 14 to 28kg nett buoyancy.
