2012 Vessels

The following vessels took part in the Oceanology International 2012 event:

  • Yantlet

    The Port of London SeaBat equipped survey vessel YANTLET run demonstrations with the latest Reson products.

    Visitors had a chance to sail on her and experience the latest Reson technology up close.

  • FS Borda

    BORDA is a 1100 full load displacement tonnage French Navy survey vessel of the Laperouse Class. She was commissioned in 1989 and is based at Brest.

    With a maximum speed of 15 knots and a range of 6000 miles, she is fitted with Thales (Thompson) DUBM active search HF towed side scan sonar, Kongsberg /Simrad shallow water multi path echo sounder and Thales magnetometer and sediment echo sounder. She carries VH8 survey launches.

  • Predator

    Sonardyne International demonstrated a range of acoustic and inertial navigation based solutions from onboard PREDATOR.

    The vessel is a 10 metre commercial catamaran with large deck area, spacious accommodation and proven track record in the marine industry.

  • Haliotis

    HALIOTIS is a recent oceanographic launch, dedicated to acoustic imagery/bathymetry.
    This vessel is specially designed to map the nature and the morphology of the seabed in very shallow waters (water depth between 1 and 20 metres).

    Thanks to a semi-articulated truck, equipped with a mounted crane, it is easy to deploy HALIOTIS everywhere (sea, estuary, lake, river).

  • workglop 128

    Ecoceane, created in 2003 is a fast growing company exclusively designing and building integrated solid and liquid pollution clean up vessels. It successfully supplied 9 vessels to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill in 2010.

    The Workglop range is a significant development. Workglop 128 was officially launched in Paris in September 2011. A 13 metre vessel with twin 260 HP propulsion, and a deck crane it has a variety of supply boat roles to play as well as spill response.

  • Atlantic Cougar

    Unique Wind Farm support and Offshore/Inshore Survey Catamaran.
    With accommodation for 18 persons in 9 twin cabins (inc crew), large deck areas, crane and her Dynamic Positioning system (multiple thrusters) with heading stabilised Joystick Control, the vessel is capable of many offshore support roles: Combining accommodation with personnel transfer, long endurance and stability.

    Atlantic Cougar also suits Guardship, Hydrographic survey and supply.

  • Kommandoren

    The Kommandoren is an 1891 Danish built sailing cargo vessel. She has been the symbol of Hays Ships for over 30 years and is a regular visitor to Oceanology International.

    The vessel is for company meetings.

  • Geo Motion

    Kongsberg Maritime will be providing waterborne demonstrations during the exhibition utilising the Geo Plus survey vessel “Geo Motion”.

    Demonstration equipment will include the Kongsberg EM2040 dual Rx multibeam system, EA440 single beam system with sidescan and the Seapath 330+ attitude system.

  • Thames Guardian

    The vessel has been recently introduced into service with the UK Environment Agency, undertaking a wide range of sampling and survey activities predominantly in the River Thames and its Estuary.

    The vessel’s Owner, Briggs Marine, has a £39million, 15 year contract to provide vessels and vessel management to the Environment Agency and ‘Thames Guardian’ represents one of the 5 Coastal and Inshore vessels being built in close cooperation with Environment Agency for their use.

    The vessels are also available for commercial works.
